Contents
Per 1,000 mL Na 131 meq, Cl 109 meq, K 4 meq, Ca 2.7 meq, acetate 28 meq, (NaCl 6 g, KCl 0.3 g, CaCl 0.2 g, Na acetate 3.8 g). Osmolarity: 273 mOsm
Indications/Uses
Acidosis associated w/ dehydration & loss of alkali ion in the body. Grade III dengue shock syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualized dosage.
Contraindications
CHF, renal impairment, pulmonary edema caused by Na retention & hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, hyperkalemia, hyperhydration.
Special Precautions
Not to be administered w/ blood transfusion. Perform periodic monitoring of water & acid-base balance in long-term use. HTN. Pregnancy toxemia & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Febrile response, infection or tissue necrosis at inj site, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from inj site, hypervolemia.
Drug Interactions
Corticosteroids or corticotropin.
